Mars myth

Don’t bite the hand that feeds you
By: Luke Borders

The people of Mars were the first to live on the red planet. They thrived in colonies and together they worked hard to sustain the good health of the people and the stations. A long time ago, on a planet far, far away, their ancestors lifted off the ground and floated all the way to their home planet. The planet was named Earth. The little blue planet was thought to be as a heaven. Lush forests and vast deserts, most of the paradise covered with blue liquid, flowing for miles and miles. Creatures roam on the ground, in the sky, and beneath the water. One day, the people of earth started to take advantage of their planet. They started treating their homeland badly. They destroyed it’s resources as fast as they could, and their waste was slowly consuming the vast oceans. Soon, the mistakes they made started affecting their health. They eventually planned to leave their planet in search of a new home. On the day they decided to leave, they rose above the ground at stunning speeds, trails of reds and oranges pursued them, and eventually they made it to the planet of Mars. They were shocked to see what their new home would be like. Miles and miles of red rock. Sandstorms almost every night, and no lush forests, vast oceans and lakes, and no wildlife. They took advantage of their home planet, and this was their consequence.
